Wow, where did time go? I’ve managed to unplug lately and enjoy the real world a bit more. It’s been a lot of fun just going on a whim of spontaneity. I can totally tell that it pisses people off when I call and want to make immediate plans! That doesn’t really deter me though as I just keep calling friends until someone is free and willing to get out of the house. It’s kind of fun that way (well, until my friends start hating me haha!). I’ve started to feel that planning is over-rated. Everyone’s “busy”… it’s just that well, busy is relative. The “busiest” people are the people that can always make time for others. Really, its true, think about it.
A couple weeks ago I went to Dave and Busters to play some of the old arcade and carnival games
It was so much fun! First, let me just say that walking into that place, is like walking into a Back to the future movie. I swear the decor has not changed ever since they built that place and at this point its almost in a laughable state of retro limbo. Its not out of date, but its certainly not aesthetically pleasing either. ANYWAY, I forget sometimes how stupid games can be awesome. We played these coin dropping games where you drop a coin onto a pile of other coins and hope that it pushes other coins into the pit (where you get points). It was soooo addictive. Each coin you drop is like “Damn. That really looks like its going to go over the edge, I gotta drop another one.” Then another, and another … etc.. haha. It was mindless but trust me, addictive! Anyway, we won a couple Family guy dolls, specifically Death, and his dog. I didn’t even remember that Death had a dog until I saw the figurine. Its kind of cute in a morbid way. ^^
Oh, skydiving at Niagara Skydive was insane. In fact, it was by far one of the most memorable experiences in my lifetime and probably will be for the rest of my life. I was so scared that I would seriously die that I actually wrote a couple words onto a peice of paper in case I didn’t make it back (HAHA I know, I’m a retard like that). So we went to the skydive place, and after waiting 3 hours, we almost didn’t get to go because of the weather. We were so pissed off, but thankfully it cleared up for 30 minutes and they let us up. Let me just say, that you don’t really feel like shitting your pants until you’re… oh, about 4000 ft in the air and realize that you’re going up to 11,000 ft. Because looking down, you see SPOTS. I swear. And that is at 4000 ft. When the door opened at 11,000 ft I was laughing like a mad man because it was the only way I could calm my nerves!! I jumped tandem with an instructor so I didn’t have to do anything except enjoy the ride. When my legs were hanging out the door looking down, it was the strangest feeling to look down at a whole lot of distance between you and the ground, thinking “wow, that’s… gonna suck if the parachutte doesn’t open.” Then before I knew it, I swallowed my pride, “Ready, set, GO” and we sumersaulted out of the plane and started falling like no freaking tomorrow. It was the most exhilerating feeling just falling. It was actually an amazing feeling because its not like everything blazes by you. In fact, things kind of move slowly since you’re so far up that its almost serene. I felt like pulling out a magazine and having a drink.
Upon releasing the parachutte (and being thankful that it deployed) I got to play around with the controls and bit and just float down slowly. When I hit the ground I wanted to do it all over again. I recommend anyone that gets the chance, to do it. Don’t even think about it, just DO IT!
I’m watching Evil Dead the musical this weekend at the Diesel Playhouse thanks to Chris‘s recommendation. Looking forward to it because it looks rediculous on the web site and most of the reviews I’ve read said its an absolutely great time. So hopefully we enjoy the show and have a gory, blood splattering, silly time.
I’ve started playing with my Nintendo DS again thanks to Kathy. I’m completely obsessed with the silly stupid games now haha. There’s this one game called Diner Dash (link to online version) where the object of the game is to wait tables (seriously) and people come in the door, then you have to move them, take their order, bring them the order and send them out the door. But the crazy part is people will queue up in the doorway until you seat them or finish with a customer at a table. So inevitably, you end up with some fast paced table waiting action. BooyEAH! Yeah, I’m stupid…. but its funnnnnnn! I’m reliving my childhood desire to wait tables at a restaurant, alas, I never did experience the joys of table service.
I think this Friday is another long night, saturday another long night… and sunday will be recovery. Looking forward to the weekend!
